Brief description
The moon’s cyclic course guides the tides, influences the subconscious mind and sets the rhythm
of feminine menstruation. The moon, cross-culturally is predominately considered
anthropomorphically, as a female. The reason for this is that the moon gradually waxes (grows) and
wanes (diminishes) like the female ovaries. Like the female sex organ which receives its fertile spark
from the masculine projectile, the moon receives its radiance from the sun’s light rays projecting
across space. In ancient times the feminine temperament of the moon was balanced not by the sun,
but by Mars or Aries, who conveyed the masculine temperament and was likened to a male moon. |
