Brief description
The emerald is a true gem of compassion, and indeed, in most cultures it is known as the truth
stone. Before diamonds were standardized in betrothal rings, the emerald was the auspicious gem
to be offered by lovers and in marriage, for not only did “it reveal the truth or falsity of lover’s oaths,”
it also enhanced the chance of fulfillment in their union. The inherent virtues of an emerald are
