Brief description
The forest’s rich vegetation and regal trees are an intermediary between the animal/human and
subtle spiritual realm. Sacred forests and groves were places of worship and ceremony long before
churches and temples. They are still a source of substances that heal, give energy and promote
ecstasy. The Oak was sacred to the Celts, the Pine to the Romans, and in the East the Banyan,
Rudraksha and Boddhi trees are still revered. The tree stretches into the sky with its leaves reaching
out towards the heavens, while its roots reap nourishment, burrowing deep into the Earth. In this
way the tree indeed unites the above and below. |
