Brief description
Birds with their ability to fly represent the spirits ascent to the heavens. Having wings they represent
the angels and the higher aspects of man. In most traditional cultures it is the shape of a bird that
the soul assumes when it leaves the body. Birds are often pictured in mythology accompaning the
hero on his journey and acting as his eyes. Birds are also messengers from above and from the
observation of their behavior the shaman is able to fore tell the portents of future events.
